WebTrader
Your whole account, in a browser tab
WebTrader is the platform Orion Capital clients trade on: charting, order tickets, watchlists and live position management on one screen, with nothing to install and nothing left on the machine. Same login and same balance as your client area — open a tab and trade.
WebTrader at a glance
-
Nothing to install
No installer, no admin rights, no updates to chase. If the machine has a current browser, it can trade.
-
Any operating system
Windows, macOS, Linux or a Chromebook. The platform runs in the tab, so the machine underneath stops mattering.
-
One account, not a copy
The same login, balance and position book as your client area. Not a separate platform wallet to fund, and nothing to reconcile between the two.
-
Leaves no trace
Sign out and the session ends with the tab. Useful on a borrowed laptop or a machine you do not control.
Already have an account? Launch WebTrader and sign in with your usual credentials. New here? Open a free demo first and learn the screen on simulated funds.
Everything in your browser, nothing to install
A browser platform is only worth using if it gives up nothing important. These are the pieces we judged a trader cannot work without, and they are all in the tab.
Charting that keeps up
Multiple timeframes, candle, bar and line views, indicator overlays and drawing tools, with your study set and layout saved to the account rather than to the machine.
The order types you actually use
Market, limit and stop entries, with stop loss and take profit attached at the point of entry. Pending orders can be edited or cancelled from the blotter without closing the chart.
Watchlists you build yourself
Group instruments the way you trade them — a majors list, a metals list, the four names you are actually watching this week — and switch between them in one click.
One-click trading
Set your default size once, then buy or sell straight from the watchlist or the chart. Turn it off and every order goes through a confirmation ticket instead; the choice is yours per session.
Risk controls on the ticket
See the margin a position will take before you confirm it, attach protective orders as you open, and close or reduce part of a position from the position row.
Picks up where you left off
Open it on the desk machine in the morning, check it in a phone browser at lunch, close the trade from a laptop that evening. Your orders and positions live on our servers, so every sign-in reads the same book.
Guided tour
What you are looking at, panel by panel
The layout is deliberately conventional: watchlist left, chart centre, ticket right, positions underneath. If you have traded before, you already know where to look.
Panel 01
The market panel and your watchlists
The left rail is your shortlist of instruments. Everything else on the screen follows whatever is selected there, so you move between markets without rebuilding the workspace.
- Search the full instrument list by name or symbol and pin the result straight into a list.
- Each row carries an indicative price and the session change, colour-coded up or down.
- Click a symbol once to load it into the chart and the order ticket at the same time.
Panel 02
The chart workspace
The chart is the middle of the screen because it is where most of the decision happens. Indicators, drawing tools and timeframe live on one toolbar rather than three nested menus.
- Switch timeframe without losing your drawings, indicators or zoom level.
- Stack indicators in the price pane or in sub-panes underneath, and save the whole arrangement as a template.
- Open a ticket from the chart with the level you clicked already filled in as the order price.
Panel 03
The order ticket and position blotter
Size, direction and protection sit in one ticket, and the open positions and pending orders sit in a blotter under the chart, so nothing about your exposure is a tab away.
- Enter size and see the margin the position will require before you confirm it.
- Attach a stop loss and a take profit as you open, or add them to a live position later.
- Sort the blotter by instrument or by open profit, and close or part-close from the row.
The margin the ticket asks for follows the leverage on your account, which is capped by where you were onboarded: 1:30 on major currency pairs, lower on other asset classes for retail clients in the EEA, and up to 1:400 depending on instrument and account type elsewhere. Caps vary by regulator, instrument and client classification.
Interface images on this page are placeholders until the tenant supplies real screenshots. Every screenshot published must be taken from the live platform with all personal and account data removed, and must not be dressed up to suggest returns.
Orders and risk
Getting in is easy. Getting out is the skill.
Most of what separates a plan from a gamble is decided in the order ticket. WebTrader puts the entry types and the protective orders in the same place, so the exit is set while you still have a clear head about it.
Order types
- Market order
- Fills at the best price available when it reaches us. Use it when getting in matters more than the exact level.
- Limit order
- Waits for your price or better. Use it to buy into a pullback or sell into a rally without watching the screen.
- Stop entry order
- Triggers once the market trades through a level you set, turning a breakout plan into an instruction you can leave in place.
- Stop loss
- Closes a position once it moves against you by the amount you decided when you were calm, not when you are watching it bleed.
- Take profit
- Closes a position at your target, so a good trade does not quietly give the move back while you are away from the desk.
- Order edits
- Move, resize or cancel any pending order from the blotter. Nothing is locked in once it is placed.
Risk management on the screen
- Margin shown before you commit
- The ticket prints the margin the position will take and what that leaves free, before you press buy or sell.
- Protection attached at entry
- Stop loss and take profit are fields on the ticket, not an afterthought. A position can be opened fully bracketed in one action.
- Part-close a winner
- Reduce size on the position row to bank some of a move while leaving the rest of the trade running.
- Live margin indicator
- A running view of used and free margin sits in the account bar, so the state of the account is never a calculation you have to do yourself.
Leverage magnifies a loss exactly as much as it magnifies a gain, and the leverage available to you depends on where you are onboarded, your account type and the instrument. Retail clients in the EEA are capped at 1:30 on major currency pairs, lower on other asset classes; outside the EEA the cap is up to 1:400 depending on instrument and account type. Caps vary by regulator, instrument and client classification. The figure that applies to you is shown in your client area, and the margin a specific position will take is on the ticket before you confirm it.
Before you place a trade
Trading leveraged products carries significant risk and can lead to losses greater than you expect.

If you are used to installing your trading software
WebTrader is the platform Orion Capital clients trade on. There is no second terminal to download and no versions to keep in step. Most traders arrive with the opposite habit, so this is what actually changes when the platform lives in a tab rather than on a hard drive — including the places where the browser gives something up.
| WebTrader What we offer | A platform you install The usual pattern elsewhere — not something Orion Capital supplies | |
|---|---|---|
| Where it runs | A tab in a current browser, on any desktop operating system | One installation, tied to one machine |
| Getting started | Sign in and the workspace is already there — nothing to download | Download, install, then keep the build updated yourself |
| Admin rights on the machine | Not needed, which is why it works on work and shared computers | Usually needed to install, and again to update |
| Where your workspace lives | Layouts, studies and watchlists save against the account and follow your login | Typically a local profile, so a new computer means rebuilding it |
| Charting and drawing tools | Timeframes, candle, bar and line views, indicator overlays, drawing tools and saved templates | Comparable charting, plus third-party add-ons where the vendor permits them |
| Automated strategies and robots | Not offered. Order entry here is manual, and we neither host nor run third-party trading robots for clients. | Often the whole reason for installing one. If that is what you need, we are not the right firm for you today. |
| Left behind when you finish | Nothing. Sign out and the session ends with the tab | An application, a local profile and cached data on that computer |
One account, whichever machine you sign in from
There is no sync button, because there is nothing to sync. Your orders, positions and history are held on our servers and the browser is a window onto them, so the machine you happen to be using is an accident rather than a dependency. Sign in from a different computer and the account is exactly as you left it.
- Size a trade on the desk machine, check it from a laptop later, close it from either.
- Balance, equity, used and free margin read the same figure at every sign-in.
- Watchlists, chart layouts and saved studies belong to the account, not to one browser.
- Close the tab, lose your connection or change computers and an open position stays open, with its attached orders still working.
What WebTrader does not do
A platform page that only lists strengths is an advertisement. These are the three things traders ask for that the browser platform cannot give you today, so you can judge the fit before you fund anything rather than after.
-
Not offered
No automated trading
There is no scripting language, no strategy host and no marketplace of trading robots. Every order in WebTrader is one you place yourself, which is a deliberate choice rather than a feature still in the queue.
-
Planned — not available today
A native phone app is in development
WebTrader does load in a phone or tablet browser, and the controls work, but a small screen fits less of the workspace. A dedicated iOS and Android app is being built to cover that properly.
-
Planned — not available today
Copy trading is in development
Allocating part of your balance to a published strategy, under limits you set and can withdraw at any time, is on the roadmap. It is not something you can switch on in the platform at the moment.
Planned means planned: in development, with no release date published here, and not something you can switch on this afternoon. See what is in build — and if automated trading is the thing you need, we would rather you knew now that this is not the firm for it.
What you need, and how the session is protected
The requirements are short on purpose. What matters more is what happens to the session when you walk away from the machine.
-
A current browser
WebTrader is built against the current versions of the major desktop browsers. No plugin, extension or Java runtime is required.
-
A stable connection
Prices stream continuously, so a steady connection matters more than a fast one. The platform tells you plainly when the stream drops rather than showing you a stale price.
-
Encrypted end to end
The session runs over an encrypted connection, and sensitive account actions stay inside the client area rather than the trading screen.
-
Sessions that expire
An idle session closes itself, and signing out ends it immediately on that device. Nothing is cached onto a machine you borrowed.
Account controls stay in the client area
Deposits, withdrawals, document uploads, password changes and sign-in security are handled in the client area, not on the trading screen. That separation is deliberate: a trading window open on a shared desk should not be able to move money.
Who you are trading with
The entity that holds your account, and the authority it answers to, depends on where you are resident. It is confirmed on your account documents and in the client area before you fund anything.

Launch WebTrader, sign in with the same credentials, build a watchlist and place your first trade. Size it small while the interface is new to you.
WebTrader questions
Do I need to download or install anything to use WebTrader?
No. WebTrader loads in a browser tab. There is no installer, no plugin and no admin rights needed, which is why it works on work machines and locked-down laptops where a desktop platform cannot be installed.
Which browsers does WebTrader support?
It is built for current versions of the major desktop browsers. It also loads in tablet and phone browsers and the controls work there, though a small screen fits less of the workspace at once.
Is WebTrader a separate account from my client area login?
No. One account, two windows onto it: the client area handles money and documents, WebTrader handles trading, and both use the same credentials. Your balance, open positions and history are held on our servers, so there is nothing to transfer or reconcile between the two.
Is WebTrader the only platform Orion Capital offers?
Today, yes, and we would rather say so than pad the list. WebTrader is the platform clients trade on. A native phone app and copy trading are in development and are not available yet; when the app arrives it will read the same account, not a second one. We do not supply an installable desktop terminal and do not run automated strategies on your behalf.
Can I try WebTrader without funding an account?
Yes. Register in the client area and open a demo account, then sign in to WebTrader with those credentials. A demo uses simulated funds, so you can learn the interface and the order ticket without risking money. Demo conditions approximate live conditions but will not match them exactly, particularly in fast markets.
What happens to my open positions if I close the tab or lose connection?
They stay open. Positions and pending orders live on our servers, not in your browser, so closing the tab, going offline or switching machines does not close a trade, and an attached stop loss or take profit continues to apply. The practical consequence is the important one: if you walk away with an unprotected position, nothing is watching it for you.
Can I set a stop loss and take profit in the browser?
Yes. Both are fields on the order ticket, so a position can be opened already bracketed, and both can be added to or changed on a live position from the blotter. Note that a stop loss is an instruction to close at the best available price once your level trades, not a guarantee of that exact price.
Can I run automated strategies or trading robots in WebTrader?
No, and not elsewhere either — it is not something this firm offers. There is no scripting language and no strategy host, and we do not run third-party robots for clients. WebTrader is built for trading you decide on and place yourself.
How much leverage can I use in the platform?
It depends on where you were onboarded, the account type you hold and the instrument. Retail clients in the EEA get 1:30 on major currency pairs, lower on other asset classes. Elsewhere it is up to 1:400 depending on instrument and account type. Caps vary by regulator, instrument and client classification. The ticket shows the margin a position will actually take before you confirm it, and the cap that applies to you is published in your client area.
What does it cost to trade in WebTrader?
Using the platform is part of the account — there is no licence or subscription for the screen itself. The cost of a trade is the spread (from 0.9 pips, by account type and instrument), commission where it applies (None) and overnight financing on anything held past the daily rollover (varies by instrument and direction). The fees and charges page sets out the full schedule, and your client area shows the figures for your own account type.
What is the smallest deposit that gets me into the platform?
A Classic account starts at $/€ 100 with spreads from 2.5 pips; the VIP tier’s minimum is discretionary and it prices from 0.9 pips, with no commission on any tier. The platform itself is identical on every tier — what changes is the pricing, not the screen. A demo costs nothing at all.
Open a tab. That is the whole setup.
Sign in to WebTrader with your Orion Capital credentials and your watchlist, charts and positions are where you left them. No account yet? A demo takes a couple of minutes.
